Sergio Itzhak Minerbi, Ph.D., was bon in Rome and came to then Palestine in 1947. He worked for ten years at kibbuz Ruhama then obtained a degree in Economics and International Relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a PhD from the University of the Sorbonne in Paris.

In 1961 Dr. Minerbi entered the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in 1963 was sent to Brussels as Deputy Chief of the Israeli Mission to the European Communities. In 1967 he became Ambassador to Ivory Coast where he spent several years. Back in Jerusalem he was Director of Diplomatic Training, and Director of the West European Department. In 1978 he was appointed Ambassador to Belgium and Chief of the Israeli Mission to the EEC. In 1986 he left the Ministry and founded a company named Shanti Consultants Ltd.

He was Senior Lecturer at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Visiting Professor at the University of Haifa.

He published many scholarly essays and books. Among them, The Beast is in the Cage (Longanesi) on the Eichman trial; The Vatican, The Holy Land and Sionism (Bompiani); Response to Sergio Romano (Giuntina,1998).

Dr. Minerbi has been a correspondent for RAI-TV, Il Sole 24 Ore and Radio 24.

On June 2nd 1996 the President of the Italian Republic and the Prime Minister conferred him the honorary title of “Cavaliere”.

He is married to Hanna Wertheimer and they have two daughters.
